Why we run it
We believe everyone should be able to get started with Solana.

The free Jito ShredStream closed on 5 September 2026. Jito ShredStream itself still runs, but access to it now sits behind DoubleZero. DedicatedNodes already runs shred infrastructure in Amsterdam for its bare metal customers, so opening a second stream to everyone else was a short step. It is paid for by the customers who rent the hardware, and it stays open to everyone else.

LocalShred™ on DedicatedNodes bare metal is included with the server in Amsterdam and Rotterdam and needs no proxy client. In Amsterdam it runs approximately 3ms ahead of what Jito ShredStream delivered.

LocalShred™ Lite is a free Solana shred stream from DedicatedNodes. The free Jito ShredStream closed on 5 September 2026; Jito ShredStream itself still runs, but access to it now sits behind DoubleZero. LocalShred™ Lite is open to anyone and needs no DedicatedNodes server. It is received by localshred-lite-proxy, an open source client forked from jito-labs/shredstream-proxy.

No. LocalShred™ Lite is free and open to anyone, on any host. Paid LocalShred™ is a different stream: it is included with a DedicatedNodes bare metal server in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

No. LocalShred™ Lite is tuned to the speed Jito ShredStream delivered, so what your node receives does not change. The 3ms advantage measured in Amsterdam belongs to LocalShred™ on DedicatedNodes bare metal, and it is not part of LocalShred™ Lite.

One command line changes. Replace the Jito binary and its block engine flag with localshred-lite-proxy and --localshred-url, and leave the rest of your command, including where shreds are delivered, as it is. The Jito client itself cannot be pointed at LocalShred™ Lite: it takes a block engine URL and has no flag for a stream address or an authentication key, which is why this is a separate binary. Put your key in the API_KEY environment variable rather than on the command line, because an argument is visible to every other user on the machine.

Three. Each user is allowed exactly 3 IP addresses. The signup form asks for the first one, and the other two are set up with you when your stream is enabled. Destinations are IPv4 only. Each entry must be a single address. CIDR ranges are not allowed.

The first 100 signups go out in the first batch. Further batches follow as capacity and monitoring allow. DedicatedNodes emails you when your stream is live.

The stream is served from Amsterdam.

Paid LocalShred™ is included with every DedicatedNodes bare metal server in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. It needs no proxy client on your side, and in Amsterdam it runs approximately 3ms ahead of what Jito ShredStream delivered. LocalShred™ Lite does not include that advantage.
